I'd definitely vote for including Frog Princess. I've been telling this story to groups from elementary school to adults for years, and I always find something interesting to think about in the telling. Plus, there are all those great Russian illustrations--even the lacquer boxes. I'd love to help with annotations, too.

Can still get people coming to Sur La Lune looking for the original Frog Princess, and even have them wandering about to the others.

BTW, both "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" and "The Tinderbox" are literary fairy tales, not folk tales. "The Tinderbox" has a number of analogs -- such as "Aladdin" -- but "The Steadfast Tin Soldier doesn't.

As far as "The Frog Princess" is concerned, whilst I have no objection to its inclusion, I should warn that "The Princess and the Frog" (as Disney's "The Frog Princess" is now going to be called) looks to be a light-hearted retelling of "The Frog Prince", albeit with a Cajun setting and with the princess turning into a frog at one point or another.

As for tales that I'd like to see, "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" is an obvious...

Thank you to everyone for your offers to be guest annotators. I've already emailed everyone who has volunteered except for you Mary. Could you email so we can start a correspondence on the tales that interest you?

My biggest challenge is having enough material to warrant giving a tale its own section but I'm pretty willing to work with a tale if I can get at least one illustration for it and it holds enough interest for SurLaLune's visitors. I get emails from people...

If you have anything with Greek fairy tales, I would vote for that.

Also, anything with Slavonic fairy tales other than Russian.

I'm open to either possibility, actually. I have some ideas of tales to add that may be popular such as Clever Manka, Hut in the Forest, Steadfast Tin Soldier, Frog Princess and a few others.

I also haven't finished annotating a few of the tales on the site, such as Firebird, Nightingale, Red Shoes, Swan Maiden and Baba Yaga, which contributing annotators could add to.

SurLaLune turns 10 this year! I can't believe it has been going so long. I've been busy with real world projects for the first part of the year, but I want to do some fun things to celebrate the 10 year anniversary. However, it's not fun for me if it's not fun or at least interesting for others, so I wanted to canvas for some ideas.

For example,
