I took a few classes there and didn't find it stellar, but what I took was unfortunately dumbed down for visiting Americans. I do know an Irish student who got advanced degrees there if you want to talk to someone, though.

Many people involved in folklore seem to enter it via linguistics and/or German studies. There are some places that mark folklore under "comparative literature"; other places are amenable to candidate designed programmes with a focus on folklore.
