Valente's sequel to The Orphan's Tales: In the Night Garden. I believe it's called In the Cities of Coin and Spices. It's coming out at the end of October.

The genre is magical realism, but it includes several fairy tales (one being a retelling of Donkey Skin) which we read along with the main character. It contains my story, "On the Banks of the River of Heaven." I mention this here because the story is based on the Japanese fairy-tale/myth of the Herdsman and the Divine Weaver.

Highlights for March include: A Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce. This novel by new author Bunce uses the Rumpelstiltskin fairy tale to weave a story of family secrets, misdeeds and consequent curses. Also don't miss The Swan Kingdom by Zoe Marriot and the sixth book in the Sisters Grimm series by Michael Buckley, Tales from the Hood.
