M. Montgomery. Her work went hand in hand with my love of folklore and fairy tales during my youth. She also wrote her own riff on the Bluebeard tale (the one which inspired SurLaLune's creation) with her own novel, The Blue Castle. A website devoted to the yearlong celebration can be found at www.anne2008.com. I've also posted my own thoughts and experiences with Anne over the years on my personal blog. Finally, I created several reference lists for fans or those wanting to read more about Anne and L. M. Montgomery: Anne of Green Gables at 100, L.M. Montgomery Library: Fiction and L.M. I read through all the 'Anne' stories, one after another, again recently. I was still as eager to keep on reading as the first time through. This time, I kept a notebook (well, a Word notebook document) of all the phrases and ideas that sparked my interest. My copies of the series were well-loved. (Unfortunately my paperbacks got wet in a move and had to be thrown out because of mold.) I used to underline favorite words and phrases. Although looking back over them, I can't quite figure out why I liked some phrases so very well. I've not read Blue Castle, but I did love the Emily books almost more than Anne.
